Worcester Axle Repairs & Rebuilds

If your axle is damaged, we can help. Our experts at Houston Rebuilt Axles are available to modify any axle or differential. With over 75 years of combined experience, we can rebuild, repair, and modify axles and differentials. We also have the equipment necessary to restore axles to their original specifications. One example is our lathe. As well as restoring axles, we sell them as well. Any axle from anywhere in the United States can be shipped and received by us. We will also deliver the axles to your home or mechanic in Worcester, as well as pick them up.

We also use Timken bearings and seals in our axle rebuilds. In the bearing industry, Timken is the industry standard. In fact, their company was trusted enough to even be used in the James Webb Telescope, which was launched in December of 2021. Our axle rebuilds are also covered by our warranty. We can also modify your axles and differentials to suit your needs. We can narrow an axle for hot rodding, for example. And we can modify differentials for off-roading. You name it, we can do it.

Our Repaired and Rebuilt Axle Process

In order to determine whether or not an axle needs to be rebuilt or repaired, we first need to determine how badly damaged it is. Damage to the axle can usually be repaired if it isn’t too severe. Rebuilding the axle is required otherwise. Repair requires fewer parts to be replaced, but it is also cheaper. Both processes also require similar steps.

To begin, the axle’s components need to be removed. Once the components are cleaned, we will check to see if they need repair or replacement. Afterwards, we will put the axle on our lathe to restore it to factory specifications. The damaged spindle ends will then be removed. These spindle ends are then replaced with spindle ends we manufacture in-house. Finally, we will then paint, assemble and fill the axle with fluids.

First, we will replace the ring and pinion during the axle rebuild process. The ring and pinion are replaced with a high-quality OEM replacement. We will then replace the seals on the carrier with Timken replacement seals. Our next step is to replace the axle shaft if it is damaged with a refurbished one. Our experts have refurbished the axle shaft back to factory specifications. If necessary, a new axle shaft will be used. Then, if the rotor is bolted behind the hub, the rotor will be turned to replaced so a brake pad can be applied properly.

Symptoms of a damaged axle

It is possible that your axle was damaged in several ways. For example, driving over a bumpy road with too much weight in the car, driving over a large pothole, or hitting a curb. Whatever may have been the cause you may experience some of these symptoms. In the event that any of these occur, you should have your axle inspected by your mechanic. Among the symptoms are:

  • Noise – Misaligned gears can result from bends or dents in axles. You will notice a grinding sound as the gears turn together.
  • Leaks – A damaged axle can cause dents and cracks that lead to leaks. As a result, the lubricant may leak from the axle, causing the axle to not be properly lubricated.
  • Vibrations – A damaged axle can cause your vehicle to vibrate, which will be felt as you drive. The vibration will be more prominent while turning the steering wheel as well.
