How is a repaired axle assembly done?

For an axle to be deemed repaired and safe to use on the road the following steps need to be considered. We remove the ring & pinion, bearing set, axle shafts and rotors to expose the bare housing from the rear of the axle. Our team at HRA will then use a lathe on the component. We will then replace the ring & pinion with an OEM version that meets factory specifications, or use a replacement new set if no OEM is available. After, the axle will be cleaned and checked on the existing bearing and axle shafts. To complete the repair and to be ready to install, the axle is reassembled, painted, and filled with fluid.
