How we repair a bent axle and spindle ends

The first step in repairing an axle is removing components from it. For example, the components we remove are the ring gear, bearing set, and axle shafts from the axle. This also lets us look at the bare housing of the axle. We then put the axle on our lathe. Then this allows us to straighten the axle and restore the axle to factory specifications. By doing this, we can also ensure no future issues will arise. For any damaged spindle ends on the axle, we will replace the spindle ends with our in-house manufactured replacement spindle ends. As for the final step, we then will reassemble, paint and fill the axle with fluids.

How is our Rebuilt Axle Assembly done?

The first step in the axle rebuild process is to disassemble the axle. This involves removing any attachments to the axle to reveal the bare housing. We then clean all the parts of the axle. Following that, our experts at HRA replace the ring and pinion set with a high-quality ring and pinion set from an OEM. Next, we replacing the bearings on the axle. Our experts choose high-quality Timken bearings for our replacement bearings. Timken is known as the industry standard for bearings which is also why we choose them.

Following that, the seals on the axle are replaced with new seals. We then use a thoroughly inspected refurbished axle shaft to replace any axle shafts. If required, we will also use new axle shafts. Should there be a rotor bolted behind the hub, we then will replace or rotate the rotor to ensure proper application of the brake pads. Finally, we reassemble, paint and then fill the axle with fluids.
