It also allows us to restore axles to their factory specifications. Any axle can be shipped to or from any Tampa location. We can also deliver axles directly to your door anywhere in the U.S. Using our courier service, you can receive your order at home or at a mechanic of your choice.
We at HRA choose Timken bearings for axle rebuilds. Timken’s bearings are the industry standard, and they are also known for their precision tolerances. In addition, we offer a warranty on axle rebuilds. This means that you can depend on us when it comes to repairing and rebuilding axles. We are also able to modify differentials and axles to meet your needs. For anything from off-roading differentials to narrow axles for hotrods, we’ve got you covered.
How is an axle repaired?
It is cheaper to repair an axle rather than rebuild one, so it is a good option. Despite their resemblance, rebuilding an axle often requires more expensive parts. Taking apart an axle is the first step in repairing it. We remove the bearing set, axle shafts, ring gear and rotors from the rear end. The pinion shaft and bearing are also kept installed. On our lathe, we will straighten the axle as needed. After the housing is cleaned, the bearings will be checked as well. Our built-in-house replacement spindle ends will then be used to replace damaged spindle ends. After reassembling, painting, and filling the axle with fluids, it is ready to be installed.
How does an axle get rebuilt?
The process of rebuilding axle assemblies is similar to that of repairing axles. First, we clean the axle thoroughly after disassembling it. The ring and pinion are then replaced with high-quality OEM parts. We will then replace all the axle bearings. In our axle rebuilds, we use Timken bearings. Precision tolerances have made Timken a benchmark in the bearing industry.
Then we will replace all the seals on the axle. Timken seals are also used on carriers and axle shafts. Moreover, we replace every used seal with a new one. We use refurbished axle shafts for rebuilding rear axles. In the event that a new axle shaft is needed, we will also purchase one. We will replace or turn the rotors on a rear axle if they are also bolted to the hub behind it. By doing this, we can properly install the new pads. When you buy an axle from us, we require your old axle as an exchange. As with axle repair, after reassembling and painting, the axle is then filled with fluid.
