How is a bent axle repaired?

The first step is to remove components from the axle. The bare housing will then be exposed. Ring gears, bearing sets, and axle shafts are removed. The axle is then placed on the lathe. With our lathe, our experts straighten the axle and restore it to its original factory specifications. Also, this ensures the axle won’t have any issues in the future. Axle spindle ends that are damaged are replaced with our built-in-house replacement spindle ends. Once the axle is painted and reassembled it is then filled with fluids.

What is the process for our Axle Assembly Rebuilds?

The axle rebuild begins by exposing the axle’s bare housing. To accomplish this, we disassemble the axle, removing any components. Then, all the parts of the axle are thoroughly cleaned. After that, our HRA specialists will replace the ring and pinion set with an OEM replacement of the highest quality. Next, we use Timken bearings of superior quality. Afterward, the axle bearings are replaced by the new bearings.

Our next step is to replace the axle seals. Our axle shafts are replaced using a thoroughly inspected refurbished axle shaft. If necessary, we can also use a new axle shaft. Afterwards, the brake pads are replaced. A rotor is rotated or substituted if a rotor is bolted behind the hub to ensure proper brake pad application. Afterward, we reassemble the axle, paint it, and fill it with fluid.
