Axle Repair Process

The initial step is to disassemble the axle, removing parts to expose the bare housing. This is done by our experts at HRA removing the ring gear, bearing set, rotors, and axle shafts from the axle. We then need to straighten the axle. To do this we put the axle on our lathe. Our lathe also allows our experts at HRA to shape the axle restoring it to factory specifications. By doing this we can mitigate any issues with the axle that may occur in the future. Our specialists then take any spindle that has been damaged off the axle. At HRA we manufacture replacement spindle ends at our shop. We then use the made in-store made replacement spindle end and weld it on to replace the damaged ones. In the end, we take the axle and reassemble it, then paint it, then fill the axle with fluid.

Rebuilt Axle Assembly steps

We take the axle apart for the first step, stripping it down to the bare housing. Then we take the axle to be cleaned thoroughly. Our specialists then take off the old ring and pinion set, replacing it with a high-quality OEM replacement set. Next, we remove the axle bearings and replace them. Timken is the manufacturer of bearings we trust for our bearing replacements. Following that, we replace the axle shafts on the axle. The axle shafts we use are refurbished axle shafts that have been thoroughly inspected. The axle shafts we then use are inspected for road safety. We use a new axle if needed. if a rotor is bolted behind the hub, we then turn or replace the rotor. This is done to make sure a replacement brake pad can be applied. Finally, the axle is taken to be reassembled, painted, and filled with fluid.
